Requirements​

We needed a useful tool for communication and collaboration among team members, especially in our remote work model, that allow us to chat in a real-time manner, to create different communication channels for especific areas or issues, to be integrated with other tools and to have mobile access.

Selection description​

We have chosen to use Slack as our internal communication tool as it offers a wide range of features and benefits that can be very useful for us:

  • Real-Time Messaging: Slack allows our team members to communicate with each other in real-time through instant messaging. This can help to facilitate quick and efficient communication, and reduce the need for email or in-person meetings.

  • Channels and Direct Messages: Slack allows us to organize conversations into channels based on projects, teams, or departments. This can help to keep discussions focused and reduce noise. Additionally, we can also send direct messages to each other for more private conversations.

  • Integration: Slack can be integrated with a wide range of other tools and services, such as Google Drive, Trello, and Zoom. This helps us to centralize communication and streamline workflows.

  • Search Functionality: Slack allows us to search for specific messages, files, or channels. This can be very useful for finding important information quickly.

  • Mobile Access: Slack can be accessed from mobile devices, which is really convenient for our remote workers or employees who are on-the-go.

Validation​

Slack is a useful tool for our businesses as it improves collaboration and streamline communication among team members, especially for our remote and distributed teams. We have been using this tool since we founded the company and have confirmed that it meets our requirements in a satisfactory manner.
